Can you review my Ancestry family tree?

Yes. If you already have a family tree online, I can review the information, relationships and available supporting evidence and identify areas that may need correcting or further research.

Will you change my family tree during the £40 review?

No. The initial Tree Health Check is a review. I'll explain what I've found and recommend what should happen next. Any corrections or additional research are agreed separately.

Does a hint mean the information is correct?

No. Hints can be useful research leads, but the underlying record still needs to be checked to make sure it relates to the correct person and supports the conclusion being made.

Can you check information I've copied from another family tree?

Yes. Information from another tree can provide useful clues, but I can check whether there are reliable records supporting the names, dates, places and relationships you've added.

What if you find that part of my tree is wrong?

I'll explain where the problem appears to begin, what evidence conflicts with the existing tree and what research would be needed to correct it.

Do I need to delete my tree and start again?

Usually, no. Many problems can be dealt with systematically by working through the tree, identifying where the evidence becomes uncertain and correcting individual people or relationships rather than discarding everything.
